2010 in color

So, my Swedish colleagues Sminkan, Kajalpennan and Nailtastic have posted their "best polishes of 2010" lists, and I reckon I can't be any worse, so I'll try to do the same! This is a summary of some of my favourite contemporary lacquers that I have posted about in the last year... Which is actually the entire history of my blog.

Here over Essie's Going Incognito.

Here it is over Head Bang from Viva La Diva.

Even though it's identical to OPI's Reflecting Pool, which was released ...some other year.

Thanks to Kelliegonzo. I never get tired of these colors!

Thanks to Roze!

Thanks to Allibally!

...or OPI's Catch Me In Your Net, or any of the other dupes. The color of the year, possibly..?

This year's first big love. You can tell it was pre blogging days because of the terrible watermarking! ;)

These was some of my favourites. My untrieds drawers are still full of releases from this year, that I haven't yet felt like wearing or blogging about. But this list is entirely biased anyway!

Swedish word of the day:

Rosy Reflection

Since Feline has shown you OPI Reflecting Pool, I thought I would swatch Reflecting Pool's pink sister. This is three coats of Rosy Reflection, a cool rose foil (no sunlight in Sweden unfortunately):

Swedish word of the day:
tema -noun theme
I'm preparing to do "comparison week"; if you have any special requests,
please leave a comment and I'll do the comparisons if I can (I don't have blue
or green polish in my collection)

Reflecting Crystal and her wigs

Good news, everyone!

What? Huh?

Oh, you'll see.

But first: Zoya's Crystal, from the winter and holiday collection Fire & Ice.

Purrteh! 3 coats. Easy to work with.

Crystal must be the ultimate polish for Swedish royalists. Ultimate. Just look at these guys and dolls:

King Charles XI, or Karl XI as us Swedes prefer to call him...

...and his wife, Ulrika Eleonora...

...and the husband again, together with artist David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl, painted by famous Swedish painter Carl Larsson...

...and Karl's and Ulrika Eleonora's daughter Ulrika Eleonora...

...and her husband Fredrik of Hessen-Kassel...

...and his successor Adolf Fredrik of Holstein-Gottorp...

...and his son and successor Gustavus III (but we call the Gustavuses Gustav)...

...and Gustav III again, but as a kid...

You can totally see where I'm going with this, can't you?

That's right. The ultimate polish for Swedish royalists. Though, I'm not one of them. I just have an unhealthy fascination for wigs.

However...

Look:

OPI Reflecting Pool, Zoya Crystal.

And again:

Now, why is this good news? Because, a lot of Americans were bummed that they didn't get the special that for once hit Asia and Europe. Well, now you can fully compensate for that! And, no matter how you look at it, this is also good news for those of you who already own Reflecting Pool- you may just save your money on the Zoya!

Swedish word of the night:
hosta -noun cough
I have one.
