China Glaze Coconut Kiss

So... Do you remember that China Glaze theme week I was doing? Do you even remember me? I've been a bit low on energy over the last few weeks, and paired with how I feel about my photos these days, I just haven't really felt like posting. I'm starting to think of my blog as rather redundant - there are so many good ones these days that mine doesn't really do much. But hey, let's post occasionally to see what happens!

This manicure was worn a while ago, but here it is: China Glaze's Coconut Kiss.

Three coats of glowing, smooth purple. You can tell from the detail photo that brush strokes have to be done carefully, but at normal distance, a few streaks isn't really disturbing at all. It's a rather nice one, although it may not be my favourite finish. Don't worry though, it's not frosty, just smooth, more towards... I don't know... A pearl? I had to color correct these photos some, you know how many cameras seem to hate magenta tones, right?

Anyway, I'll try to post more often. We'll see how that goes.

Also, I can't think of a Swedish word of the day. My head is full of snot.

  1. I love that polish! Is there a Swedish word for snot? That would be an interesting word to know.

    1. I think I've actually used snot as the Swedish word of the day before, but here it is again: snor -noun snot :D It's pronounced "snoor".

    1. Let me take it in English, to quote the infamous Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren:
      Swedish word of the day:
      semla -noun semla
Traditional Northern pastry bun with cream and almond paste, usually eaten at shrove tuesday (monday in some areas).

You really do a good job at taking photos of polish, and your nails ar so neat. Yes, your blog is one of my favorites :-)

  4. Please continue to post! You have such beautiful nails and I really like how you take your pictures. The colours are great and very faithful to reality. It helps me a lot to choose my polishes ;).
You have fans in France and among them, me ;)!
This China Glaze remembers me a lot the Grape...Set...Match of OPI (I have this last). Very nice colour and "in" for this spring :).

  5. That looks so pretty in the first and last pictures. :) A sunlight needed polish definitely. :)

And totally wanted to add my two cents -- I love your blog! It's one of the first I subscribed to and I still think your pictures are among the best out there. It's also nice to get a Northern European take on the polishes and brands available.

  6. I dont find any polish blogs to be redundant. with so many colors and combinations, you are guaranteed to hardly ever see the same thing twice (aside from new collection posts). your photos are spot on and i always love seeing posts of all sorts, whether its for nail art inspiration or just to see a color i never knew about and add it to my wishlist - so please keep posting! yours was one of the first i ever read and one of the reasons i started my own!

I know how it sucks with the lack of sun (it's even worse where you live I think..) good god I miss summer, when you can wear holograhpics whithout feeling guilty of spending the precious polish when there is no sun to let it's colours explode..
okay talking unimportant stuff here xD but please keep on posting! I always read your blog, hell I even go through your achives when I have nothing to do =P

  15. Your blog is NOT redundant. I only read about 4 nail blogs regularly. 2 or 3 because they always have info on new collections, and then you and Polish or Perish because there's nothing better than a sharp, intelligent voice that comes through even when writing on something as "silly" as nail polish. I love looking at pretty manicure photos, but sometimes the airheadedness of many of the nail blogs makes me crazy. I've been missing your updates, and hope you'll have more energy soon.

  17. Hey!
I really love your blog as well and I am reading it regularly.
I like the way you're taking pictures and your writing style, but especially the swedish word of the day. :) Hearing/reading swedish makes me happy (not that I understand a thing...)
