Readers' choice: OPI Black Cherry Chutney

Last week I posted about OPI Sanguine/Royal Rajah Ruby and similar shades after a request from my friend Karin. She also wanted to see Black Cherry Chutney, but since I found no way to fit it in with the other colors, I'm posting it separately this week!

Three coats, and still bald spots here and there - perhaps not too visible in these photos, though. I had to color correct these photos because this damn plum red shimmer wouldn't stick to the lens! Photos no. 1 and 4 have been corrected, the others have not, so you can tell the camera turns it all red. This is especially apparent in the second photo. Still, this is a blackened plum (or perhaps a black cherry, then) shade with a shimmer that only comes out in strong light, and is sort of subtle and hidden within. In the sun it's beautiful, but in low light it doesn't really do anything for me.

What do you think of this one?

I'm low on three things right now: sunlight, days off, and also requests. Despite the lacking time (I'll be working a heavy schedule for the next couple of weeks) I would still like to get your requests for swatches and comparisons! If you have any, please email me, tweet or send me MUA mail! Available polishes are found on the collections sub page below the header.

  3. I wore this one recently, I couldn't get decent pics of it, so I never posted it. Such a lovely color!

  4. I had to buy 2 bottles of this shade before I got a good one that was not all watery. It's hard to see the shimmer in it when using it alone. I love to see some shimmer in it, so since it's still kind of thin, I will make a sandwich with it & a clear base white/gold shimmer. Thanks for showing the swatch and doing all the good camera/edit work.
