Pop Petrol

When I saw this one in my local beauty supply store, I couldn't resist it, even though it in reality looks nothing like it does in the promo photos... But come on, it's named something petrol!

Before I got deeper into this whole nail thing, I always referred to teal as petrol. Teal is a color that doesn't really excist in Sweden. We don't have teal things. But we do have petrol. And that's teal. We just don't call it teal, neither do we have a Swedish word that translates into teal. Not really. No, here we call teal colors either turquoise or petrol. And I love petrol.

For a long time I refused to categorize any of my polishes as teal colored. They were petrol!

So now I can rightfully say I have a petrol polish. Lancôme Pop Petrol.

Shadow.

Little sunbeam in my bedroom...

Afternoon sun.

Most of the time it just looks black. Sometimes with a hint of something. But mostly, black. If you're not like me, save your pennies.

Swedish word of the day:
fikarast -noun coffee break
Because I have had one looong most of the day...

  1. It looks nice, but I think it's a tad too dark for my taste. Btw, I'm wondering if the bulky Lancome caps can be removed for easier application? It may seem like a strange question, but I've tried to remove mine and it didn't come off (I didn't want to be too hard on it either) so I tried googling it but didn't find anything about the caps.

  2. I would never buy expensive polish with this kind of color. I have a lot of them that just look black on nails. Don't get me wrong, I like almost black nail polishes, but they must be priced reasonably. =)It looks great on you!

  4. Anneli: I just took a quick look up in the cap and decided I didn't want to try. It looks like it /could/ be removable, but also like it was daaamn tight. :D I had no problems with the chubby handle, I had very good application with this one.

nihrida: No, me neither really, but for some reason I decided to splurge that day... O.o

rmcandlelight: That sucks! Since it has been reviewed on ALU I assumed it would be, but I guess I didn't read carefully enough. Anyway, you're not really missing out on anything, if that helps.
