Maybe it's just that I have finally found the perfect time of year to wear my China Glaze Frostbite.
I had many reasons to wear this one. It was on my to-get-list for a long time, but after seeing numerous cars with pretty much this exact color around my hood, and constantly drooling over it, I caved in and got it. It has been described as pearly, but I don't find that this polish has any pearliness to its finish- it's a shimmer, stroke-free. It has a very bright glow though, that makes it resemble a metallic car paint heck of a lot more than a... pearl. Ehm.
A while ago, my first ever childhood hero, the legendary Kiss axeman Ace Frehley, made a comeback and released a new album. Along with it, a bunch of new promo photos were circulating, and while the notably older hero was sporting a laid back look complete with shades, his nails made a very bright and outgoing impression. On the nail care discussion board on Makeup Alley, we rather quickly identified the screaming, bold nail color as China Glaze Frostbite. It wasn't very hard, because even though it's "only" a blue shimmer, it has a rather unique appearance, in my opinion.
I love that Ace isn't afraid of using his nails as part of his image! The guy is 58 years old after all. Not many men his age would dare doing a manicure, even less so if it meant slapping on bright blue polish. I think it's inspiring, and it kind of gives you hope, doesn't it?
Back to the Swedish reality. It is kind of frosty here. This winter has so far been colder than the average over the last ten years. We even had below zero Fahrenheit for a while. That might give the American crowd an idea of exactly how cold it has really been!

Kiss really did appeal to kids back then, and what better way to get into them than with the help of older brothers. ;) I was 4 when mine brought home his first Kiss record. And Ace was always, and still is, the coolest Kiss member of all times! And go get Frostbite, it is really cool. :)
nihria: Thank you! <3 I love it too. But I can't for my life find it frosty. That's weird, neither the name, nor the description China Glaze themselves put out during the release seems to actually fit the finish. In my perception it's just a gorgeous, glowing fine shimmer. :)
