Readers' choice: BB Couture Green Goblin

New week! That means new, requested swatches. This time, yet another request from Arrianne, this one also from BB Couture: Green Goblin.




I did three coats, because it was still a little uneven after two - though my bottle could definitely have benefitted from a few drops of thinner, since it's probably had some time to evaporate a whole lot.

This is one of my absolute favourite green cremes. It is just perfect in so many ways. Not too dark, but still murky and a little yucky - just how I like them. I have also worn this one as a pedi, and it is still in my (perhaps) top five pedis of all time.

Three coats. Still a bit uneven, but when it's a really great polish ...does it really matter? I love this shade, and it's perfect for a summer pedi!

Readers' Choice: BB Couture Iced Olive

Time again! Arrianne wanted to see BB Couture Iced Olive, and here it is:




I think this was three coats, if I'm not mistaken I had to do a third because of slight unevenness - but it could have been just two. I have to start writing these things down, huh? Anyway, medium warm toned green creme base with loads of golden shimmer. Pretty, yes?

Do the Hustle!

This is BB Couture Hustle, a light grey with silver shimmer. I did two coats, no topcoat. I like the color and I like the shimmer but unfortunately, it was more of a bumpy ride than a smooth hustle (as you can see if you click the pictures)... No luck with the sun either, oh well...

Opposites do attract?

Cammi and I collectively decided to show you some of our BB Coutures for a few days. While Cammi has been doing her part patiently, I've had some trouble getting started. May I blame this on the weather? Some of you may recall that I blatantly announced spring to be around in Stockholm, but you know what...? I take the entire blame for bringing that misbehavin' April weather back. It was all my fault. Anyway, as I told you in that fatal post, I have been nubbinized. I'm sticking with appropriate colors for a while. First one up from me is the classic Opposites Attract.




Medium grey with irregular shimmer flecks and sparse black microglitter. Two coats are sufficient for nubbins. A more interesting grey than your standard creme, for sure. I like it. But it's... grey. A nice grey.

And a bonus, or maybe not: the poor Belle Starr, who was unfortunate to never see the sun.

This was the best I could do under the circumstances. I believe I did two coats. This one is very pigmented and nicely formulated, perhaps a little too well pigmented, because that cute, subtle shimmer I can see in the bottle just isn't there on the nail. At least not without a ray of sun on it. Nor in strong lamp light. Hmm.

Not really my vision of Paradise

This is BB Couture Paradise from the Haiti Collection, a greyish beige/pale taupe. You can spot some shimmer in the bottle but it doesn't really show on the nails. I had some problems with the formula so I needed three coats to get it even.

I think this is similar to OPI Let Them Eat Rice Cake, might do a comp later on!

Hermosa Surfer Girl

More BB Couture! This is Hermosa Surfer Girl, a raspberry jelly with multicolored glitter (the green glitter stands out). The bottle says apply two coats, but since this one is quite sheer it definitely needs at least 3 coats IMO.

Kamikaze-ing right into spring

Can you believe it - spring has sprung in Stockholm! For a while I thought it would never happen again, but boom! There it was. Almost sent right into summer. Out with the cheerful! I picked Kamikaze from BB Couture.




Three coats. Not as difficult drying time wise as I would have believed! I did it n a hurry and got no dents once out the door. The photos are far from perfect, but you can sense the sparse green and yellow glitter, right? It's absolutely gorgeous. Definitely one of the famous BB Couture greens worth owning.

Oh, and after these photos were shot, I chopped off those talons. Got work shifts in the nursing home coming up this weekend. So, the next manicure you see from me will be nubbinized.

Pion... Frontier Woman

I'm always about to call this polish Pioneer Woman, but then realise that's a blogger and the name of the polish is actually Frontier Woman, from the newly released Wild West collection by BB Couture. I'm not entirely sure about these photos, they don't seem accurate enough for me - the color appears more saturated in reality, and that is probably why it turned out weird depicted. Here's my take on it anyways.




This was two coats, and formula was great and made for an overall pleasurable painting experience.

However, I wasn't entirely knocked by this color, and I don't know why. It's probably what some say - it takes a whole lot to really impress an owner of circa 200+ green polishes. But I'm not complaining, it is very nice. Just not top notch.

Swing Baby with comp

I love foils and I love coppery bronze browns, golds and champagne colours so I knew I would at least like Swing Baby from the Vintage Vixen collection and I did. I thought it would be lighter than it is and it proved to be browner than I expected.

It reminded me of the BB Couture's I swatched a couple of months ago so I did a comparison:

1. BB Couture Dancing Queen, 2. ChG Swing Baby, 3. BB Couture Union Square, 4. BB Couture Blind love

Swing Baby is quite like Union Square but Union Square is darker and Swing Baby is more sparkly.

Cute or not?

Long time, no blog posts... Besides that I've been busy working, I started taking driving lessons and I 've also spent some time in the gym. So lack of time and some nail breakage has resulted in blog absence. However, I did not take a break from buying nailpolish so now I have ridiculously many untrieds. Maybe I'll show you some of them on my nubbins! =)

This is some old pictures of BB Coutures Catalina Cutie, a sheer coral with gold glitter.

I don't think coral is the best color on me so I'm not sure why I bought this. As you can see it's quite sheer and there is VNL so I think this would look better on someone with shorter nails or layered. What do you think, cute or not?

BB Couture Eve

Still no witty post titles, here is one of BB Couture's recent shades, Eve, from the Infamous Lovers collection. (She goes with Adam. In case you didn't know.)




I was all psyched when I first saw the bottle photo of this one. It had just been released the ay before and there were no blog reviews yet. I ordered it solely because if its looks on Kim of Overall Beauty. I mean, how can you go wrong with green, murkiness, glitter and shimmer?!

Well, although there's absolutely no wrong with this shade, I ended up not loving it like I had anticipated. It might just have been my general mood lately, or the lack of sun when I finally took this manicure for a walk outside, or... Maybe it just falls flat. Maybe more isn't always more. Maybe I'm actually a Scandinavian minimalist after all. Maybe all. Or maybe none of these suggestions really applies.

Honestly, it does look a bit like sparkly infant poo. Hmm.

I guess I'm not turning lesbian this time either. I still prefer men. Like Adam.
