Some OPI The Amazing Spider-Man - bottles and quick swatch

I have some of the lacquers from the upcoming OPI collection The Amazing Spider-Man to show you. Apparently there's a new Spider-Man movie coming this spring, and Tobey Maguire is not part of the cast. I'll probably see it at some point anyway, but this aside, there are the lacquers. Unfortunately, I don't have all the colors to show you - there are two more shades and a new crackle top coat - sorry about this, but these are the times!

I strongly suggest you magnify these photos, as Blogger seems to have added the weird feature of automatically convert to web color palette in posts.

First, some bottles:

Your Web Or Mine? Frosty rosy pink.

Into the Night. Dark pearly blue.

Just Spotted the Lizard. The Chanel Péridot dupe - multichrome tealish gold.

My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Slightly greyed white creme.

I did some quick wheel swatching, while we're all waiting for my upcoming time off and ability to fully swatch:

Completely different order, but spotting which is which shouldn't be that hard.

As usual, I'm going to apologize about these photos, but I had been working all night and the weather was kind of dull when I got back home. I'm really hoping for some sun about the midst of the upcoming week, and I'll give you the full swatches we all want!

I'll review these colors more thoroughly as I swatch them, but let's talk about first impressions here. I have been looking forward to this collection a lot, and perhaps I'm a tiny tad disappointed in the finishes of the shimmers, but the good parts will make up for the less good ones, as the people azre finally given an easily accessible salon formula dupe for the already legendary Chanel Péridot in Just Spotted the Lizard. Out of these, I'm feeling the dark blue Into the Night as well, despite the rather fine, frosty like shimmer. Let's see what these are like on actual human nails. A white creme is perhaps not on top of my wishlist, but I trust someone will need a new one. And yes, I realize I have to make a comment on Your Web Or Mine?, but I wish I rather didn't have to, as I find it horrendous. Definitely far from youthful, but perhaps a granny or two will be pleased.

I really really wish I had the rest of the shades, especially the grey Number One Nemesis and the crackle Shatter the Scales, but let's all rely on the fact that this nail polish circle of ours is a true community, and the some of the other bloggers will show us the rest!

Swedish word of the day:
Spindelmannen -noun The Spider-Man
It's what we call him in Swedish.

  1. Just Spotted the Lizard and Into the Night looks gorgeous. Though I totally agree with you about Your Web or Mine, it looks so dull.

  4. I think your pictures are fab as usual.
The problem is that the collection is lame. Spotted the Lizard is the only one remotely interesting, which is a damn shame for a collection that is based on the fantastical world of a Marvel comic. Smh.

And I think the movie actually looks like it'll be interesting! Plus Emma Stone is going to be in it, and she's amazingg, so it can't be all bad.

    1. I have to say, I do agree with you. I have no clue where the pink or the coral fits into the world of Marvel. They should have amde a fantastic Spider-Man red instead, and even though I think it's a good thing the bigger brands release decently formulated dupes for Chanel polishes, it would had been even more fun had all the polishes been more original.

  5. I forgot about this collection! I thought the next Peridot dupe was from China Glaze, but of course OPI is hopping on that, too! Thanks for the bottle shots!

    1. It looks like Deborah Lippmann is releasing a dupe as well! A $18 dupe for a $25 polish? I think not that clever... ;)

  6. Had not heard of this collection coming at all...thanks for the heads up. Though I don't think there is anything here I want. The Peridot dupe might be interesting - but I have a couple of those already.

  7. Not at all as good as I thought it would be. Just spotted the lizard is the only one that I find interesting.

  8. Han heter Spider-man sen sen 1999 i sverige. Då bestämde sig egmont att byta alla serier till sina anglosaxiska namn. Så det så. ;)

  11. Thanks for the post, I'd heard that OPI was duping Peridot but had never found any swatches. Otherwise, I agree with the other posters, none of the other polishes looks at all unique. And another crackle? It seems that interest and sales of these is really diminishing, I'm surprised (and appalled) that OPI is still coming out with more.

    1. Yeah, even though this one is green and looks rather nice in the bottle, I agree. And eprsonally, I can't stand shimmer or glitter crackles, they make my head hurt - too busy!

  13. I'm only interested in the whiteish one since I don't own any white np's. However, Your web or mine would make my granny happy!
