Hi all,
The PR company working for OPI Inc., Harris Shepard, and the Swedish distributor of OPI, Kings Hair, have urged all early blog posts to be taken down until further notice. We were too quick to post photos and reviews, since the new DS lacquers weren't supposed to be official until later this summer.
We will repost the review when all is clear, and add comparisons. I trust many of you had the chance to see these during the night, and those of you who didn't - there will be more chances!
holy sh!t!!!!
ReplyDeleteBold does nothing for me, I can't decide about Temptation though ... nothing ground-breaking, for sure. I think I'll pass on it too. It doesn't look bad, but like you said, price tag just isn't justified IMO. I don't mind DSs not being holo anymore (although a green Glamour just might have been the reason for my death of happiness), but I would expect more of a kickass colour in the DS department. Then again, I only truly like 5 colours in DS, so maybe I'm just too picky.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite disappointed. I don't like Temptation. Bold is nice, but it's not something I'd rush out to buy.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it would have been nice if one of these was green. There are so many pink and blue shades, the DS range needs something that looks totally 'new' imo.
Whoa @ the first one. And just to prove that you got me all crazy about Kleancolor polishes - I immediately thought of Kleancolor's Diamond Red (#176) when I saw OPI Bold. Dupes, maybe?
ReplyDeletebold reminds me of china glaze mrs. claus from last christmas. *sigh* why oh why charge such high prices for these OPI? lame.
ReplyDeletethanks for the quick swatches girl!
I wanted them to be holo. I'm disappointed. I won't be picking these up. :(
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty, but they look bumpy. I'm a little disappointed. I'd prefer it if they stayed with the holo formulation for the DS polishes.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm going to be buying either of these. I look to the DS line because of their holo goodness...not just glitter chunks :-\
ReplyDeleteThanks for the quick swatches, you're the best! I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed by these two, I expect DS polishes to be more special. Maybe next time? ;)
ReplyDeleteI was kind of hoping for more holographic goodness. These are nice of course but I like some of the rest of the DS polishes better. Great review and photos though, thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. I think I will skip on this collection.
ReplyDeleteDon't be so hars on yourself, these are good swatches!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I'm extremely disappointed about DS Bold, not only because I hoped for a decent red holo, but mostly because it looks very much like China Glaze Mrs Clause. I always expect OPI to be original.
I like the first one, but like I said on the other post. Everyone was expecting holos, and now they give us glitter?? Expensive glitter...
ReplyDeleteI understand that the holo "pigment" is super expensive and OPI no longer wants to make them, but c'mon just end the DS line...Don't keep giving us foils and glitters :/
Holy shit Temptation is amazing! *need*
ReplyDeleteI don't like how chunky the glitter looks- why can't OPI go back to their original formula they used for the first DS polishes? All those gorgeous holos!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that the pink one looks just like the CG christmas one (Mrs Claus?).
ReplyDeleteI am in love with DS Temptation!! That looks gorgeous!! ^_^
ReplyDeletePish posh! Why would they send them to you if you couldn't put them up?
ReplyDeleteThey were nice swatches by the way - as always!
Due to the time difference here on the West Coast of the states, I missed the DS swatches...darn it. But honestly even not seeing them, not sure I want to buy anymore DS unless they really change up. They need SHINE in them, not just diamond dust. They need to take a lesson from Zoya who can do sparkle in a super classy way - full on, semi and demure sparkle. Cannot imagine they sent them to you and expect you to take down your PR you are doing for them!
ReplyDeleteLearn a lesson from Zoya, really? Zoya makes NOTHING like the original DS colors. Also, OPI has several colors similar, if not exactly the same, as this sparkle you speak of.
