Originality in holography

I know I'm always terribly late to the party, but I just recently, finally, picked up OPI DS Original. Since I'm not that keen on pale colors, no matter the dramatic effect, I layered this pretty rainbow on top of a plum creme, namely Catrice's Plum Play With Me. This is what I ended up with.



This last photo is taken in my new and not by any means finished lightbox. The colors are completely weird, I know that. Gonna buy me some more kickass lamps next month.

Anyway, this was two coats of the OPI over equally many coats of the Catrice. What do you guys think, did it make much of a difference, layering Original like this?

    Dunno about the layering. But I DO know it looks fabulous. If only the DS polishes weren't so expensive in the UK even if I could find them!!!

    Could you pleeease compare it to amethyst? I have original but I am hesitating over amethyst.

    Also original is very close to sh prism purple diamond, I have 2 purple diamonds, 1 is a little lighter, other darker and the darker vesion looks much better.

    I layered original over dark purple like chg lets groove, it helps a lot.

    I actually like it way better than the original DS Original. I think it looks much better darker.

    very pretty, but I prefer DS Original in its pale form. The holo is more pronounced I think

    Snyggt! Och smart med det mörklila under. Ska absolut testa! Original är ett av mina favoritlack ur DS-serien. Glamour är så klart nummer ett, men ur en rent holografisk synvinkel är nog original den som är mest kick ass av alla i den serien.

    Edit: I just use $7 work lamps in my light box with my white balance set to tungsten. I have yet to use it for my nail pics, but I does great for my Etsy stuff.
