Happy May Day!

Today is International Workers' Day, or May Day, so what better than showing a franken I custom made for a fellow feminist? In Sweden, as well as internationally, the feminist and socialist movements walk side by side, or may in some cases even be the very same movement. As many workers have been marching the streets today, let's now celebrate with a festive glitter polish. And yes, nail polishes can make statements.

I believe I did three coats on the wheel - this is a vampy jelly polish with all sorts of glitter, and a tiny splash of golden shimmer. On white plastic, especially in sunlight, it appears brighter than it really is. The top bottle photo shows the vampy properties the best.

Just like in my old Angina franken, the base color is derived from China Glaze's fantastic vampy jelly Ravishing, Dahling. The glitters are from three different polishes: Color Club Rockstar, my dear Uninhibited black glitter from the LA Girl Glitter Addict line, and there's even a sprinkling of holographic hexagons, found in New York Summer Hollywood Night. The gold shimmer is only a few drops of a random H&M gold foil.

Unlike most of my recent frankens, this one does have a name. I won't disclose it though, since it's a sort of insider joke that could be perceived in a very wrong way by someone not familiar with it. The recipient of this bottle, Lisa, understood the name perfectly well, and promised to wear it for her upcoming trip to London. With Lisa in mind, this lacquer pretty much blended itself in no time. It has everything a modern feminist is in herself: a deep, classic red symbolizing an independent woman (Lisa will like this reference in particular), multi colored glitter to represent her open mind towards all sorts of cultures - ethnic, sexual and popular, the black glitter for seriousness on the political side, and a dash of gold and holographic glitter for the glitz and glamour we all need sometimes. - All of this could of course be said about the workers' movement as well!
