Oooh, much stuff going on in this bottle.
The only sunny photo I managed before the outskirts of Stockholm went all grey and damp...
And yes, obviously those irregular, broken mirror style pieces are holographic.
Here's a photo in low light to reflect what's really going on here - this polish does not need a lot of light to be effectful - since the base is a jelly and magenta-ish it photographs terribly, and the lower light better shows the actual depth of the color. Just imagine it a lot cooler, a medium, vivid raspberry color. Much like the promo shot you can view on Mary's blog.
This was three generous coats, and one coat of my preferred, self-leveling topcoat over it. Yes, it's bumpy, but I don't care. I think this polish is so cool. This one is a match made for those of us who liked OPI's I Lily Love You, but thought it could perhaps been a bit more fierce. Well, of course, this is the only polish with these irregular flake bits I've seen that is actually holographic, while the ones we've seen before are made from those iridescent mylar flakies.
I got two others from this collection as well, Wish Upon a Rock-Star and Backstage Pass, but the first one has a glitter color constitution that I actually dislike, and the latter has great large hex glitters in an appealing color range, but will need a gazillion coats for coverage, sadly.
This is definitely a must have from this collection, perhaps the only one, and also most definitely a new addition to the much beloved holographic range. Perhaps not to everyone's liking, but definitely to mine.
Swedish expression of the day:
dum i huvudet stupid [in the head]
I am now, most probably due to those irresistable muffins I had for "lunch".

ReplyDeleteFabulous! Can't wait to get it!
ReplyDeletecute!!!
ReplyDeleteHm! That's really interesting. I like the fractured look of the pieces.
ReplyDeleteOoh I want this one!
ReplyDeleteWOW! This is amazing! We don't have Color Club anywhere in the area of the California Norther Coast where I live. I need to look on line - this is fab!
ReplyDeleteSo glad they did this, this is JUST like Covered In Diamonds only with a more opaque colored base! I loved that funky glitter anyway, and to see that it works well on its own in this, is awesome. I'm gonna need this!
ReplyDeletePure love.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really pretty! I'm wondering, does the glitter lie flat on the nail or does it stick up? I remember some feedback about the glitter pieces in Covered In Diamonds and I Lily Love You not lying flat on the nail...
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh! I love it! This is a total must-have! Thanks for the nice pix!!
ReplyDeleteOerhört tjusigt!
ReplyDeleteI've got this one on the way to me, and I must admit that I can't wait to get it now, after having seen how cool your nails look in it!
ReplyDeletePris: It's a bit bumpy, yes, but these pieces are a little bit different than the mylar ones in Covered in Diamonds, I think. Honestly, mine is still in my untrieds pile... So I can't compare. But with this one, I could live with slight lumps. Application WAS a bit tricky, but I felt it was manageable.
ReplyDeleteI want this. Your fault!
ReplyDeleteBut I don't really like the fact that the glitters might poke out. I am okay with bumpy, but poking is annoying!
