I got a spectacular message a while back: "Hey, I'm in Kikoland! Do you want any?". It was my dear Dutch friend Roze who, generous as always, offered to pick up some Kikos for me during her vacation to Italy. Could I resist? Hell no. I consulted Kiko's site and went through color drops like a mad woman, and this is one of the polishes I asked Roze to look for (she sent me five more!): number 337.
Two coats of bright periwinkle blue perfection! Yes, it is slightly more purple leaning in reality, but I tried to the best of my abilities to get the color true. From the color drop alone, I knew I needed it. It's somewhat reminiscent of one of my favourite cremes ever, Blue My Mind from H&M, but I've already compared, and they're not that similar. The better!
Needless to say, I love this one. I'm so far very impressed by the Kiko polishes, and from what I've heard, they're cheap to! Perfect. would you like to see some of my other Kiko polishes, perhaps?
Swedish word of the day:
vintergröna -noun periwinkle
Cutesy flowers.
I love Kiko's, I'm always swapping for them with Roby from http://smaltoitaliano.blogspot.com :D
ReplyDeleteI have this Kiko and I LOVE IT :D
I bet you got the Olive Drab one and I'll die when I'll see it on your nails. *sigh* The one that got away. But Kiko trully is AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first Kiko. It looks great on you. It's a brand I myself discovered only recently as well.
ReplyDeleteAgree! Looks amazing on you. Good color choice from just looking at their web site color chips!
ReplyDelete*stands with open mouth* Oh, the perfection!
ReplyDeleteI want it, I need it!!! I beg you on my already wounded knees to do a comparison with H&M one.
Pretty <3
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to Italy I got me a few Kikos. They are not so cheap for me unfortunately and I got less than I would've liked to :(
This periwinkle is gorgeous! I've been addicted to blue polish lately lol. Got Sephora's Myrtille on toes and DS Glamour on hands!
Yay I'm happy for your post!!! There's a kiko store 10 minutes to my house, if you need, I'm here! ^__^
ReplyDeleteViva Kiko! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am always happy to read about an italian brand on foreign blogs!
And I'm glad that you have appreciated this polish! :)
Tip for shooting with a DSLR: if you're concerned about colour, shoot in RAW. If your monitor is properly calibrated (google how to do this) the RAW file will be as close to colour-accurate as you can hope to get. You can then convert this into JPG upon saving but if you are using something like Photoshop or GIMP it should retain the changes in good quality.
ReplyDeleteI want to see all your polishes ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteAnd here's a tip: the viles only have numbers but if you check out Kiko's site, you'll find out the polish name! :)
As an Italian polish addict I must say we are lucky to have this brand! 337 is named Viola Pervinca (Periwinkle Purple maybe?). I'm eager to see the other ones she sent you, recent Spring releases (from #311) are mostly gorgeous creme shades!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand, but I really like this shade! I'd love to see more of them.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your first Kiko! I have a store 5 mins from home and I love the brand, not only polishes but also other make-up, too! You are also lucky because this colour is rumored to be a limited edition which will be discontinued soon! What more did you get?
ReplyDeleteI live in France and it is true that the nail polish Kiko are beautiful! happy to have found your blog!
ReplyDeleteThere's a rumor thata says kikos could stay to €2,50, as summer discount price! Pray for this! ;)
