A spring Rain Storm

You know what happened to me the other day? I could not pick a polish to do my manicure. Even if someone had pointed a gun to my head, I would not have been able to pick a color. See, this is something I reckon happens when you just have too damn many polishes. I have, according to my anal spreadsheet, well over 200 untried polishes. So how do you pick one?

You ask a friend. You ask your twitter followers. You ask your significant other. And then you turn to your kids.

I ended up going to bed with naked nails, because no matter what anyone said, I just couldn't feel that color on me. Over half the next day went by with no added color.

But I got lucky. Turns out, yesterday was an excellent nail mail day. And when I had broken up my package from Transdesign, the choice got somewhat easier. There was one I really wanted to try out. But it wasn't exactly screaming spring, so I still hesitated. What do you do when that happens? You ask your almost-4-year-old. Which one should mommy paint her nails with?

That one! Great. She picked the one I wanted to try. Now I had a legitimate reason to do so. And look:

China Glaze Rain Storm. If I'm not mistaken, this is part of the core line. And it is effin awesome. My only criticism is it's painfully sheer. Pictured is four coats, and that cost me a lot of shrinking after topcoating. But it was worth it.

Sadly, the blazing sun we had the first half of the day didn't survive until I was about to shoot photos. The top photo is in very weak, dim sunlight, and the above in shadow.

This polish isn't just an enchanting blue with (in these photos invisible) pink or purple sheen, it also has that sparse glitter I love. Both silver and light blue glitter particles are to be found here.

I wish my photos did this polish justice, because it is a whole lot more beautiful than I would have thought it was, and I ended up loving it way more than I expected. I thought I would remove it within hours due to the shrinking, but I'm still wearing it, almost 24 hours later. And I'm not sure I want to get rid of it just yet... *staring, blindly in love, at nails*

And yeah, Rain Storm. In April. Well. I can live with that. Accompanied by today's overcast and a fallish Opeth album, it fits my day. I happen to like rain storms. No, I love Rain Storms.

Swedish word of the day:
regn -noun rain
Because.
